Events

In order to nurture the community spirit on site, Plymyard Hall Allotments hold regular events throughout the year. These events not only bring our community closer they also serve to promote the site and encourage what is after all a way of life!

The list below shows the events we have held so far, the association is more than welcome to suggestions for additional events, some of the plot holders have been known to enjoy a glass of wine or two at these events.

Annual Show Photos: 2008, 2007 , 2006

The Annual Show is held towards the end of the summer and allows allotmenteers to show off all their hard work. The day is all about having fun, with friendly competitions, plant sales, machinery demonstrations and refreshments.

Summer Social Photos:

The summer social is basically a good excuse to get all the allotment members to take time out from all the hard work and gives everyone a chance to meet up in one of our local pubs or restaurants to socialize.

Summer BBQ

Photos:

Weather permitting the summer barbeque provides not only another chance for getting to know your neighbors it also provides the opportunity to cook some of your own produce on site.

Bonfire Party

Photos:

As the name suggests this party allows everyone to relax with a bite to eat and a drink around a fire.

Christmas Drinks

Photos:

At Christmas what could be better than meeting up with 50 or so like minded people for a good chin wag and a few drinks.

Skip Days

Photos:

These are days when we all clean our plots and the general site of rubbish, we burn all old timber and brambles and gather all other rubbish in one place ready for the arrival of the skip.  It is also an excuse to get the kettle on and have a natter with a nice warm cupper.

AGM

Photos:

The AGM provides a formal means for the association to report on its activities for the previous year, and discuss en mass, plans for the site.
